Anyone had a look at any of the region alignments for either of the proposals being discussed?

Was told that the 5A proposal passed for fall of 2016 and the 6A proposal was two votes shy of passing. I predict another shake up will come for fall of 2017. Thank goodness mine is a SR next yr. And I hope we stay 4A so we can continue to play basically in the same conference we're in now. That proposed 5A conference for South sucks, only team that would really give a run would be W Florence.

I would like to see what this would look like with 5 regions in each division consisting of 8 teams per region.
Where's Banddad and his maps when you need him???

What? Huh? They are early.

Are these regions just for football?

At a glance, Spring Valley to Carolina Forest, that's one seriously spread out region. Regions 4, 7 and 8 are pretty big too.

This is just one possible scenario. We won't find out what will be on the table for a vote till August.

According to all of the local ADs, the classifications for Beaufort County Senior High Schools will be:

AAAA: Beaufort High, Hilton Head High

AAA: May River High, Possum Hill High, Bluffton High

AA: Whale Branch High

From what the ADs are saying, May River, Bluffton, and Whale Branch will be the schools most affected as far as new opponents go. All of the local ADs are on board 100% with the new proposals allowing for more fair competition based upon enrollment. No more schools having to compete with other schools more than twice their size. Smaller Regions are also expected to aid with travel time and expense as well.

That may work out for Beaufort county schools, but travel looks pretty awful up here in the Pee Dee. Some of these regions are huge.

I finally got a chance to really look at this possible alignment and those popping up on other forums.

It's all pure conjecture until the HSL releases a final 135ADM list that includes the private schools and all the adjustments for charters & magnets.

I compared last year's official 135ADM to that proposal and found that 6 teams flip between 5A and 4A. Using last year's 135ADM: Nation Ford, Laurens and Greenwood would be 5A, Irmo, Ridge View and River Bluff would be 4A. That has a drastic effect on how the map get carved up.
