-VS- Gaffney:
Defense - 98%
Special Teams - 87%
Offense - 12%
Overall - 65%
Let's start with the offense... Too focused on a single receiver in the set. So focused that wide open receivers are not even noticed, yet we throw into double and triple coverage or just take a sack. Running game spends too much energy trying to get wide. Hit the gaps and go!
Special teams - One roughing call so not too bad. Personally, with all his bad kicks, I would have thought when he was backed up like that, set up a return... pull up and make sure we get good field position. Kicking game looked great, kick off return was great, even the hands team looked great on the onside kick.
Defense - one bad coverage mix up and one slip and fall, gave them most of their yards in two plays. I don't know if the defense could have played much better.
Overall - still too many penalty yards! Many from bad decisions and really sloppy playing. That has to tighten up or we will lose a game or two that we shouldn't lose. I still think we have two HUGE games ahead of us with Dorman and Spartanburg, but I think we can win those games if we make some better decisions and cut out penalties. If not, we could have a road playoff game in week one of the playoffs instead of a game or two at home!

Completely agree on everything. The running did however show some improvement. Rushed for 152 against a defense that hadn't allowed over 100 till Friday night. I believe we should use #35 more in the running game and use #3 in the pass game like we are.
I believe and hoping that Friday was a case of looking ahead plus coming off a bye week is tough for high school kids for some reason.

Too much talent on the field to not be 3-2 or better...
Keep in mind, I have not seen the other four games, so take this with two grains of salt.
With Strickland at the helm: and yes, I was a Strickland fan from even before he took the job.
Union County - 21 Point win
Boiling Springs - about the same, 2's and 3's playing majority of second half keeps the score about where it was
Dorman - toss up
Brynes - toss up (especially the way we stunk it up out there)
Spartanburg - much closer, but I still give the edge to SHS.
Gaffney doesn't seem to be as fired up and excited on the field as I'm used to seeing.

Well Region play is here, maybe we see different teams now!
If I had to put a prediction in place for Friday night:
Rebels 42
Bulldogs 14
is what I want to see.
If $$$ was involved, I'd only give Boiling Springs 14.5 points
And for them sorry Injuns.... I mean for my Indian friends...
Gaffney 21
Nation Ford 7 {what is Nation Ford's mascot?}
If $$$ was involved, I'd only give Nation Ford 3.5 points
Yeah, I'm cheap when it comes to giving points!

Nation Ford Falcons!
They should have their Cheerleaders lead the team onto the field riding in a convertible Ford Falcon!
(ala Georgia Tech entering behind the Rambling Wreck T-model)
