2A Projections after Week 10
Well I have looked at the 2A Standings and guessed at some of the games.
2A Region 6 could end up a mess....
Garrett @ Academic Magnet
Bishop England @ Battery Creek
North Charleston @ Whale Branch
How would you guys pick these games?
I picked Academic Magnet to beat Garrett (this was the toughest to pick, could go either way),
Bishop England to beat Battery Creek,
Whale Branch to beat North Charleston.
So the projected standings would look like this:
Bishop England.........5-0
Academic Magnet......3-2
Whale Branch.......... 3-2
Battery Creek...........3-2
Garrett...................1-4
North Charleston........0-5
3-way tie for 2nd place. So we go to the Region 6 tie-breaking procedure.
(Thanks to the Coach/Admin. that sent me the procedure)
c. If more than two teams are tied and one beats the others, that team receives the higher seed. The others go to the next appropriate tie-breaker. Head to Head results will first be used.
d. If a tie still exists, the Region 6 AA Rating System will apply. This states that a team receives 3 points for defeating a region school with a non-losing region record and 2 points for defeating a region school with a losing region record.
Academic Magnet, Battery Creek, and Whale Branch would all have 7 points. On to the next tie-breaker.
e. If a tie still exists the following point system will be used based on regular season victories.
4 A non-losing record 5 pts.
4 A losing record 4 pts.
3 A non-losing record 4 pts.
3 A losing record 3 pts.
2 A non-losing record 3 pts.
2 A losing record 2 pts.
1 A non-losing record 2 pts.
1 A losing record 1 pt.
Academic Magnet would end up with 12 pts. (7+ 5 pts for beating 5 losing 1A opponents)
Battery Creek only manages 9 points. Tough out of league schedule.
This part gets really fun....
Whale Branch "could" end up with 12 pts. also.
WB's point total will depend on a ruling for out of state opponent Windsor Forest (GA).
Unfortunately, the website with the latest enrollment numbers is currently down.
2014 Windsor Forest (GA) had an enrollment of 1145.
This should make them considered 3A by the SCHSL? If it does....
Whale Branch and Academic Magnet are tied.
So we use Head to Head (WB vs. AM) Whale Branch beat Academic Magnet 28-20.
Therefore....
1. Bishop England
2. Whale Branch
3. Academic Magnet
4. Battery Creek
Just wow!!!!
HUGE Thank You to the administrator that gave me the assist on this.
I'm kind of tired after all that....
