I haven't seen West Ashley play yet but I know they are a pretty good team this year. But I say Dorman takes this in a nailbiter to not give Dutch Fork anything to go off of in the second round.

Dorman 24
West Ashley 20

Don't over look this West Ashley team.
They have a stud at tail back and the Q.B is very shifty.
They run a lot of gimmick plays on offense.
They also have one of the most physical front sevens on defense.
If Dorman can protect their QB and stretch the field then they can win but they better be ready for a physical fight.

I agree. West ashley is physical. Ive seen dorman play. Their offensive line dont seem very physical. That can be a problem. Dorman does have a solid defense. West ashley also has size at wr and they can run if they catch the ball.

Man...Idk I'm not sure about what my fellow lowcountry posters just said. I saw West Ashley play and I wasn't all that impressed. Granted Fort played West Ashley the week of the flooding and neither team probably played to their potential on an extremely wet field and bad rain but still Fort got out to a 29-0 halftime lead and had subs in the game in the 4th. West Ashley scored their only TD with 30 seconds left in the game against Fort backups. Maybe it wasn't their best night but they were far from the best teams I saw Fort play this season. I would expect Dorman to cruise to a win by 14+ at least and quite possibly more.

With no knowledge of West Ashley, I will have to go with my heart on this one. I'm picking my Cavaliers in a close one...

Dorman - 28
West Ashley - 24

If Summerville were to pull off the huge upset, we play at the winner of this game....Hmmm....travel to West Ashley or travel to Dorman . Based on what Dorman has done against some really good competition such as very close losses to Spartanburg and DF, I see Dorman easily winning this game.

My Pick:
Dorman 38
West Ashley 17

The thing that worries me about Dorman is that they don't have a good win. In that, all three of their losses came to the teams they should have lost to...Spartanburg, Dutch Fork and Byrnes. The only "quality" wins on our schedule IMO were Boiling Springs and Gaffney. I'm not saying we don't have the talent to make a deep run in this years playoffs, but just trying to stay grounded with this team. I've seen them play their best game of the year (@ Spartanburg)...then see them play their worst (@ Byrnes). See the pattern? Both on the road. Both top tier teams. Hopefully the coaching staff will have the boys ready to go Friday night and get them thru this one. Should be interesting to say the least...

West Ashley is a good football team this year. They have lost to Hilton Head (1 loss) Ashley Ridge (1 loss) Goose Creek (3 losses) Fort Dorchester (0 losses). The fifth loss was to a very bad Wando team on on Monday night. Despite what D Factor says about them, his Fort D team has not been contested by anyone in the lowcountry this year which is really really down across the board. Fort has been good for two years now and has ALWAYS had more talent than anyone down here but could never put it together until really this year and they still have to prove that they can run the table. They have always been in the shadow of Summerville which has had a horrible season understandably so after the retirement of a legend. Fort has only beaten the Wave twice and that was last year and this year. Likewise, West Ashley pummeled the Green wave this year at their place. The Wildcats are well coached, very fast and physical. Their only drawback is that they are not a consistent playoff team and Dorman has much more experience in this area. Can they beat Dorman? You betcha they can and especially if Dorman does not respect them and plays sloppy after a long road trip to Charleston. As For Summerville, I will bet that there will not be an upset in this one. The Greenwave this year simply does not have the horses to travel to Columbia and upset a Dutch Fork team. In the larger bracket, I pick the Patriots of Fort D to run the table IF they can keep it together. Look for a rematch between them and AR in the second round at Fort where AR beat them last year, however, AR was better on defense last year. In the smaller bracket, Northwestern and Spartanburg will battle this out. My pick is the Trojans in the end.
