I read in the paper this morning that coach ALLEN SITTERLE coaches
at a private school ANDREW JACKSON.they will play GREENWOOD CHRISTIAN
this week for the state championship in their division. I know coach
SITTERLE had several state titles with DANIEL and SPARTANBURG.
do any of you guys know why he left coaching in the public schools?

I couldn't find it again, but I read an article within the past few weeks where Sitterle talked about the differences in 8-man and 11-man football. He stated that one of the biggest differences in 8-man football is the even number of players versus the odd number of players in 11-man football. Sitterle said 11-man football allows for a free safety in the middle of the field. 8-man football doesn't always have that which creates the opportunity for bigger plays.
He also stated that (at the end of the day) regardless of the number of players......football is still football and it will always come down to blocking and tackling.

thanks for the info.i was reading an article about CHRIST CHURCH last year.
coach WILLIS BURKETT is one if their assistant coaches. he was head coach
at GREENWOOD years ago and then at CHESNEE for a few years.

Don't think Sitterle ever had a state title at Spartanburg....

Don't think Sitterle ever had a state title at Spartanburg....
you are right. he didn't win a championship at SPARTANBURG.
