Some Great Match Ups in Division One AAAA
Dutch Fork
Dorman
Rematch from earlier in the season when Dutch Fork pulled out a win VERY LATE in the game. I expect this one will go down to the wire as well..... I'll be one of the first to say, "It's hard to beat a good team twice in the same season!" Even though I'll get the "Well, you are biased toward Region II..." I'm still going with the Cavs in the rematch!
Sumter
Byrnes
We better bring the "A" Game to Sumter next week or it could be a long ride home. We showed both sides last night, great execution then the "duck in the desert" looking team. We better get rid of the duck and play football at Sumter. I would like to think that last night was due to the rivals, extra week layoff, and all those factors and that we will be ready on Friday! Rebels in a close one!
Fort Dorchester
Boiling Springs
What could be the best match up of the week!!! I am a believer in the Fort! I really think they are the team to beat in this side of the bracket, but if there is a team that I was looking at that could beat them, it might just be the Bulldogs.... yeah, I know, Region II bias again.... but watch the Bulldogs and you will see, better yet ask the AR folks! This is a good team and will give the Fort Dorchester team all they can handle, but I have to go with the home team!
Goose Creek
Hillcrest
Gators have quietly kept playing, and doing just enough to win! That is until this coming Friday night.... I think the defending State Champions are a little peeved that no one is respecting them, AGAIN! Last year, all you heard was about the other side of the bracket and whomever survived that side would have a cakewalk in Columbia. Well it didn't quite work that way and the Rams are still here and they want you to know they are still here. Friday night, the noise gets louder. Hillcrest in a big way!

Boiling springs has our attention. Spring valley game was a flat game plus that georgia tech offense can give fits plus it kept our offense off the field. Our defense is playing lights out. I look for our offense to start out fast. Bs will be a formidable opponent imdeed. But this fort d team is hungry. Since hillcrest is in the same bracket, it serve as motivatiom for a possible showdown for pay back. Hope the springs bring a crowd lets have a great game

Spartanburg took a LARGE crowd down that way TWICE last year!!

......I'm glad we don't have to do it again this year!!

...But my wife would rather we did, she loves to travel!!

Definitely some great matchups R74.
Obviously I'm most interested in Fort Dorrchester/Boiling Springs game and I think it will be a good one. I really know nothing about Boiling Springs. I know they have had some big impressive wins, I also know that have had some bad ugly losses...but they have already proven they can beat great teams so they have proven they can play with anyone. They look like they had a rough start but figured it out quick, I throw records out the window because winning 6 of the last 7 shows me they figured it out. I don't know anything about them or the team, I know their the Bulldogs and I know Boiling Springs is located somewhere north of Columbia. The only link between the teams at this point is Ashley Ridge who both teams beat convincingly ... Boiling Springs went on the road in the playoffs and won by 20, Fort played against an undefeated rival for region championship and won by 40. Both wins are very impressive. I would expect most upstate people (and probably many lowerstate people) to pick Boiling Springs because the upstate has proven to be the dominant region for high school football. I can't deny that, but I also can't deny that Fort has done some really impressive things this season. If (and a big if) Fort can continue to play at the defensive level they have had the 2nd half of the season I think they have a chance to beat anyone. Gonna be a great game though.
I think Byrnes/Sumter is the game of the week though. Early in the season Sumter was a team I had my eye on and my darkhorse pick to surprise some teams in the playoffs. But Byrnes has been producing championship caliber teams since before many of the players on both teams were even born and are one of the gold standards for high school football programs. I don't know enough about either team to do any kind of breakdown but if I couldn't go to the Fort game this week this is the one I'd go to.
Dutch Fork/Dorman is another big game, who's the favorite in this game? I know Dutch Fork is the #1 seed, but are they expected to win this game? I could see either one of these two teams playing in Columbia and it should be another thriller like the 3 point game earlier this season.
Goose Creek/Hillcrest scares me. Goose Creek was the best team Fort played this year, and Hillcrest ended Fort Dorchester's season last year. Hillcrest should be favored just because of their defending champ status...but Goose Creek finished the season strong winning their final 7 games. Let's also not forget that Goose Creek beat Dutch Fork (#1 seed) 29-20 earlier this year, and pushed Fort Dorchester (#2 seed) only losing 20-13. Would not be at all surprised to see Goose Creek win this game and possibly move on to the state championship. They are a really good under the radar team.

The boiling springs game should be a good game. Some one said bs qb going to tear things up. We shall see. We do hit teams in the mouth. Like against sv when the qb got his bell rung he didnt want to keep the ball on the option anymore. We have done that a few times. The dogs have our respect and attention. After they beat spartanburg it was our motivation to how if you iff your game. No matter how high you rank you can lose. We just hapoen to play Bluffton afterwards and it was a beat down.

Yeah, who saw Dorman that big????

Well the Gamecocks kept it close through 3 and 1/2 quarters, then the Rebels closed them out....

The Bulldogs did a good job this season and will be bringing a lot of talent back next year. I thought it may be closer than it was, but I knew it would be a lot of points!

I thought the Rams would win easily, but Goose Creek didn't give up and roll over!
