Northwestern's strength and speed on defense simply stuffed Westwoods vaunted rushing attack behind that huge "mule" offensive line.

Northwestern's offense came out of the locker room ready, willing, and able to attack the inexperience secondary of Westwood. Basically, our offense pretty well moved the ball at will. Westwood's passing defense has not seen a passing attack like Northwestern's.....and it showed.

A few stats...
Westwood had 31 yards rushing and 135 yards passing in the first half.
Westwood had 80 yards rushing and 24 yards passing in the second half.
Westwood finally broke out with a 47 yards run for a td way into the 4th qtr against the NW 22nd/3rd string.
So, their vaunted rushing attack was 41 attempts for 111 yards with a 2.7 yards per carry average overall.
Or, without that one run, 40 attempts for 64 yards with a 1.6 yards per carry average.

Northwestern's 1st team offense's passing stats were 23 completions on 27 attempts for 333 yds and 5 td passes.

They came out of the locker room ready to play.

Northwestern's 1st team offense has scored 19 times, 18 TD's, in its last 21 possessions. Defense has not allowed a 100 yard rusher this year.
