Dorman Victory Thoughts

I guess short of a few reporters, I have seen both teams more than anyone and thought this game would be close and much better than the first.
My thoughts
1) I have said all seasons that lack of discipline, stupid penalties and turnovers would cost the Rebels a game this season. It did last night. Without the penalties and turnover, I think the results could have been different.
By my count Byrnes had 13 penalties for 165 yards last night including
4 personal fouls
12 men on the field on a punt that allowed Dorman to take another 2 minutes off the clock late in the 4th
A unsportsmanlike call that turned 2nd and goal at the 4 to 2nd and 19
A fair catch interference that was a silly foul
A defensive holding call that gave Dorman another 1st down in the closing minutes.
2) I thought the 14 point swing in the first half would doom Dorman. 1st and Goal at the 2 resulted in no points for Dorman and 5 plays later the Rebels scored. Huge swing there.
3) Both quarterbacks took vicious licks all game and stood in there and never stopped. Micah Young was popped multiple times and still stood in there. Collin Hill was hit hard and still delivered huge plays all night. Both QBS were solid last night.
4) Bain has the heart of the champion. He never stopped all night even when the Byrnes defense continued to pound him and stop him through 3 quarters. Finally in the fourth he found like 3 inches of running room and made a few great runs to keep the clock moving.
5) Dorman without arguably their 2 best athletes going into Nixon and winning is amazing. Tyrek Long and Azariah Vasquez are the 2 players that simply have be on the field and can not win without........everyone really stepped up. Diquan Green really stepped up and made huge catches usually against great defensive coverage.
6) Stone Pellegrino is the greatest name in SC High School football, especially for a tight end.
7) Very surprised by the crowd last night. Thought it would be much larger. Neither side was full.
8) The Byrnes Fans really turned against their team last night. I am not talking about the incident with Darth. He was 100% correct and 100% right in his remarks. But to see fans make negative remarks and leave when the game was not over was surprising. Also very disappointed to hear racist remarks regarding the coach while walking out. I thought we were well past those days. I realize it was only 1 or 2 or 3 fans but I did not see anyone else telling them to STFU.
Dorman was the better team last night and the lack of discipline last night on the Rebels sideline cost them dearly. After sitting through 11 straight Cavalier losses at Nixon Field, it was nice to finally find a W.
