Realignment Appeals
According to the post game show (Friday Night) on WGOG 101.7fm, around 43 schools have filed some sort of appeal of the new SCHSL realignment plan for 2018-20.
About 27 of those appeals are being heard at an executive committee meeting at the SCHSL today and tomorrow.
Coverage of the meeting can be followed on Twitter at

I'd be willing to bet that 90% or higher will lose the appeal
The SCHSL doesn't admit their way may not be the best way very often.
Think about it... "We are going to a AAAAA system to keep everyone doing things the same way!" Yet they have 8 team regions and 5 team regions. 4 AAAAA Regions in the Upper State and 3 AAAAA in the Lower State this year and reversed for this proposal. So some teams have 4 region games while others have 7. Last season and this season, in the Upper State, you must WIN the region to get the #1 seed in your part of the bracket while in the Lower State, a Region Runner Up gets a #1 seed in one of the bracket pods.
"Everyone doing things the same way" - not hardly!
Do I have all the answers - NO
But unlike them, I would be willing to offer some answers AND listen to other's ideas!

I hope you win.
5A realignment is crazy. Why not 8 Regions x7 teams =56 teams. Play 8 games against 5A schools to make 8 games count toward playoffs. 2 games you get to schedule.
Six games inside your region and two cross over games.
Region 1- Region 2
Region 3- Region 4
If Blythewood and Rock Hill schools are in same region then they don't really care about travel.
