SAME STORY, DIFFERENT DAY VALDOSTA-57 BEAUFORT-20

This game was over 2 and a half minutes in. We kicked off, held the Cats to 3 and out. They punted. 2 plays later, a pick 6 and the rout was on. Next series for Beaufort netted a scoop and almost score for the Cats on a fumble by the QB. A 1 yard run on the first play by the Cats, 14-zip at the 9:32 mark. We wind up down 28-zip at the end of 1 with 1 first down on a penalty, and ZERO net yards of offense. By the middle of quarter 2 we are down 36-zip and Valdosta calls off the dogs, and we play against backups the rest of the way. We get a long TD pass against their backups and wind up down 43-6 at the half. Playing with a running clock, we manage 2 score against 3rd and 4th team defenders for the Cats. A kickoff return for a TD, and yet another pick 6 completes the scoring. I did see more effort this week, but not much better results. 4 straight weeks of 5A and 6A competition ends with a trip to little mexico to play the fluffers next week. What an incredible facility that the Wildcats have. Valdosta State University actually plays their games in the High School stadium, NOT the other way around. A video board that makes the Clemturd's and the Clucker's screens look like cellphones. Now having watched Beaufort High games for more than 50 years, I can say that we have been to the top of the mountain. Nothing in this state comes close to that facility. (Sorry folks from up NORTH) Yes, there are newer, more modern, and more expensive, High School facilities in Texas, but who in their right mind would even consider going to a hell-hole like Texas? I have some pictures that I will try to upload during the week.
Here kitteh, kitteh!

WELL I AM JUST POSTING ABOUT THIS GAME BECAUSE MY FAMILY AND I STAYED IN VALDOSTA FOR THE WEEKEND. EVEN THOUGH BEAUFORT LOST THIS GAME WE STILL HAD A GREAT TIME IN VALDOSTA AS WE ALSO WENT TO WILD ADVENTURES THEME PARK. IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN TO WILD ADVENTURES I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. THEY HAVE RIDES FOR ALL AGES THERE, AWESOME SHOWS, AND YOU CAN SEE ALL TYPES OF ANIMALS. I WILL DEFINATELY GO BACK. MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAD A GREAT TIME THERE.

OK NOW ABOUT THE GAME. VALDOSTA HAS A PRETTY GOOD TEAM. THEY ARE REALLY BIG AND CAN HURT YOU RUNNING OR PASSING THE FOOTBALL. THEIR ONLY WEAKNESS I WOULD SAY WOULD BE THEIR DEFENSE BUT THEY STILL HAVE A ABOVE AVG. DEFENSE.

BEAUFORT REALLY HURT THEMSELVES IN THE GAME WITH THE INTERCEPTIONS AND THE PENALTIES. LIKE I SAID IN MY PREGAME POST THAT IF BEAUFORT HAD A LOT OF PENALTIES AND TURN THE BALL OVER THEN THEY WOULD LOSE BIG AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. I THINK THIS GAME WOULD HAVE BEEN A LOT CLOSER WITHOUT THE INTERCEPTIONS.

BEAUFORT'S DEFENSE STILL HAD SOME MISSED TACKLES BUT ONE BRIGHT SPOT IS THEY DIDN'T HAVE AS MANY MISSED TACKLES AGAINST VALDOSTA THEN THEY DID IN THE GAME THE PRIOR WEEK AGAINST BLYTHEWOOD. BEAUFORT'S DEFENSE WAS MISSING ONE OF THEIR BEST PLAYERS WHO GOT HURT IN PRACTICE BEFORE THIS GAME. HOPEFULLY HE WILL BE BACK AGAINST BLUFFTON THIS WEEK.

I HOPE THAT BEAUFORT CAN CUT BACK ON THE TURNOVERS AND PENALTIES THIS WEEK AND THE REST OF THE SEASON. IF THEY CAN DO THAT THEN I THINK THAT WE WIN REGION 7 4A PRETTY EASILY. THESE 3 LOSSES TO REALLY GOOD TEAMS SHOULD HELP BEAUFORT I THINK.

I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH VALDOSTA'S STADIUM. IT IS A VERY NICE FACILITY. THE ONLY DOWNFALL ABOUT IT IS THE CONCESSIONS. THE FOOD AND DRINKS FROM THE CONCESSION WERE REALLY EXPENSIVE. 1 BOTTLED WATER COST $2.50. :o. BUT OTHER THEN THAT I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE STADIUM, VALDOSTA'S TEAM AND THEIR BAND. I WILL DEFINATELY LOOK FORWARD TO MY TRIP TO VALDOSTA AGAIN NEXT SEASON WHEN MY EAGLES MAKE THE RETURN TRIP. HOPEFULLY THE OUTCOME WILL BE DIFFERENT NEXT SEASON.

NEXT YEAR I HOPE THAT BEAUFORT WILL BE ABLE TO HAVE SOME FAN BUSSES TO THE VALDOSTA GAME. ALSO I HOPE THAT BEAUFORT'S CHEERLEADERS AND BAND CAN MAKE THE TRIP. THERE WASN'T TOO MANY PEOPLE FROM BEAUFORT AT THIS GAME. SO I HOPE THAT THE BEAUFORT HIGH OFFICIALS CAN HELP BRING MORE PEOPLE TO THIS GAME NEXT SEASON. I REALLY DID ENJOY MY EXPERIENCE OF SEEING VALDOSTA.

WELL BEAUFORT DROPS TO 3-3 ON THE SEASON. THIS WEEK THE REAL SEASON BEGINS AS BEAUFORT WILL BE MAKING THE TRIP TO ARCH COUNTY RIVAL BLUFFTON TO START REGION 7 4A PLAY. I AM ANXIOUS TO SEE JUST HOW BEAUFORT PLAYS AFTER THESE LAST 3 TOUGH GAMES IN A ROW. GOOD LUCK TO VALDOSTA ON THE REST OF THEIR SEASON.

GO BEAUFORT EAGLES!!!!
