Haselden's legacy will endure

I’ll drive to Columbia on Saturday to cover the SCISA state football championships. But my mind will be on the empty passenger’s seat. Last year on this very weekend, that seat was occupied by Mark Haselden.
We’d try to harmonize to an Eagles song.
We’d even do a couple of Beavis and Butthead impressions, which sounded WAY better than our Eagles impression. Honestly, Mark’s impression of Beavis after he downed some cappuccinos was spot-on. As you get to know someone outside of the press box, those are the memories that stay with you. And, those are memories I look back on since Mark died Thursday at 50 as a result of colon cancer. I look back with fondness, because not only was Mark an incredible writer, he had such a twisted sense of humor that I greatly appreciated.
