Coach from Havelock in NC getting SC job.
Coach from Havelock in NC getting SC job.
Saw it posted on Twitter by Charlotte Observer this afternoon. Says he is leaving to pursue opportunity in SC but doesn't name school. Anybody got any info on where he might be headed? South Pointe possibly?

Easley wow never wouldve picture that one. Ok btango since you said it what makes easley a good oppurtunity for a coach in NC to come down and try his luck there. No disrespect to the school or fans but thats not really a top program to take over

Agree. Easley had their moments in the sun decades ago. And from what I have been told, Pickens County is not exactly the place successful coaches look to go to as far as getting paid. But who knows, seems like any SC alternative is a profitable one for NC coaches. And maybe he has family reasons that make him want to get back to that area.

Yes, Easley. We've heard rumors over here for the last few weeks, done deal pending approval by the school. He'll be making over 2X what he's been making in Craven County. He's a fantastic young coach who's built strong relationships with college coaches. He likes the challenge of building a program; no doubt he'll build Easley into a winner.

Agree that he appears to be a great coach. Just surprised it is Easley. As good as he seems to be, one would figure that he could get in play for one if the higher paying coaching gigs in the upstate, or the Midlands. But appears Easley is getting themselves a good one. Good luck to him down there.

He's only 35 so he's got plenty of time to get at the top of the ladder. When a school calls you and offers you about 40K+ more a year and you don't have to teach, that's hard to pass up.Deputy wrote:Agree that he appears to be a great coach. Just surprised it is Easley. Not sure if you're aware of the pay structure down here in eastern NC, but it's abysmal.

Not familiar with it at all. Just know that in SC that Pickens County hasn't traditionally been one of the higher paying districts. That he could make 40k more is shocking
