Happy for Jimmy Wallace because I know he still has passion for coaching pumping through his veins. And some other big name hires by Legion announced too: https://www.heraldonline.com/latest-new ... stage_lead

Is it me or is anyone else distrustful of a company that opens schools as its business model? I know they are probably listed as a "not for profit" or "non profit", but the higher ups with the company and the administrators at the schools aren't exactly making slave wages. Strikes me as using the kids for profit. NCAA-ification of secondary-level education and sports.

It just makes you wonder what the people behind Pinacle and KIPP and other companies are really interested in. Its my belief that the kids aren't number one.

You have probably completed more research than I as it relates to the corporate business names you mentioned; however, I have personally known and have worked with Coach Herron, Coach Carroll and Coach Wallace for the last 20 years........They care about "the kids" and have gone above and beyond to take care of them AS BOTH athletes and students. All 3 would not have accepted the positions if "IT WAS ALL ABOUT MONEY". In addition, do your research on the Head Principal - Dr. Kennedy. One great man. He was an Assistant Principal at SP and then the Head Principal at York Prep. FANTASTIC HIRE........Again, with Dr. Kennedy, the "KIDS" and students come first........

I didn't say anything about those three. The whole system and concept of a private company opening schools. At the end of the day, what is the reason.

I can only talk about what I know and have experienced. I have 3 kids. 2 of my 3 attended RHSD 3. 1 attended York Prep - Charter School - York Prep could very well operate under the model that you mentioned. HOWEVER, as parents, we received more feedback and communications from York Prep AND muck more assistance than you get from RHSD 3. I have no problem with the for profit model. Much better education based on my experience. Good luck trying to get a call back and information from a Northwestern Counselor.......

He isn't there to be the strength coach. He is there to recruit.
