Yannity on channel 7 and the Anderson Independent Mail both reported it this afternoon. Was actually not surprised that he retired. Think most knew he wouldn't be at Hanna long since he was here to double dip on a pay day at Hanna's high paying gig after retiring in Georgia. But then he didn't call it quits after the state title game last year, figured he was going to hang around another year, or two. The immediately have the job to his OC, who is a long time assistant to him back to the Georgia days. Maybe he timed his retirement until now to almost have no choice but to name him the successor

New HC was also a HC as well. Coach Herron really got this program going in the right direction however this pool of talent that just graduated has been coming for a while. Hope he just did not see a chance to win a state title in another state and walk way but if you have ever been around him I do not see him being that kind of man. One parent told me Coach Herron almost hung it up after 1 yr due to knee surgery and was getting burned out, one of the hardest working football coaches I have ever seen. Extremely focused on ONE thing , FOOTBALL.
However as a fan it would have been nice to see him hang it up earlier so they could at least search for a coach. I was told new HC is not an interim coach but will be on a short rope if things do not continue like they are, do not think anyone is expecting a State Championship run this year but just keep being very competitive
I think TLH did have a couple QB’s transfer out due to the WingT though
