Mods,
What was the issue with the latest topic surrounding Northwestern football? I believe there was a very good back and forth happening on what happened and what needs to happen. To lock this topic is surprising. Obviously this isn't "my message board" but to lock a topic because some posters (or moderators) are not interested is silly. The purpose of a message board is to have back and forth on certain topics. If someone feels it is a "dead horse", then they can stop reading/posting. I believe that the job of the moderator is to keep posters from saying threatening things about individuals or towards each other. Neither of those were the case on the last thread.
Furthermore, in looking back, the only other time threads were locked were for folks doing the things I mentioned earlier. So do the moderators have the authority to delete/lock a thread when, in their opinion, the topic is a "dead horse"? If so, whats the point of this site? At the top of the page it states "An independent forum for South Carolina High School Sports Fans". Mods locking threads due to personal opinions doesn't sound too independent to me.

Totally agree. You have a point. Was interesting to see the differing viewpoints from the NE folks. And some folks that actually seem to know what has transpired behind the scenes. Have seen other posts that are basically silliness between only a couple posters go on forever. The deletion of that thread just doesn't make sense.

It seems the issue was the mods had no interest in it, so lets "lock it". Short of someone belittling others, threatening, or calling names, a post should never be locked. Its not like this forum is a one post forum. Anyone can start a new post at anytime. So if a post goes on forever and "beats a dead horse", then so what. If folks continue to post and read, apparently that horse still has plenty of life.Deputy wrote:Totally agree. You have a point. Was interesting to see the differing viewpoints from the NE folks. The more we share and discuss, IMO....it will HELP the current coach at NW. Footballfan4343 you might not agree with me, but the more that is brought to light regardless of old era or new era will give Wofford more than 1 year unlike Pierce or Martin. That is all some of us on here want to see. Two guys got railroaded and it is not okay because a few adults did not like someone. You seem to have very close ties to Coach Wofford and I respect that. No one wants him to fail. We just want the system fixed. The past 2 guys have gone through hell and back and we don't want to see it again. I have said my piece for now. Good comments and good points. With that said I would respond but, we better watch out, if we continue to post it will get locked down again!tigergirl wrote:The more we share and discuss, IMO....it will HELP the current coach at NW. Slick, you are part of the fun! We still have six weeks to live action. Gotta have something to talk about. Football city USA has the only local rag with a dedicated high school football page separate from high school sports that stays active year round. At least in the six different cities I have lived in around the country.CITYSLICKER wrote:YALL NEED TO SHUT THE MUCK UP, DAMN GET OVER IT, YALL GOT ME BANNED. DAMN

Tiger, I totally agree. That is exactly why this discussion is important. Like it or not it is also importsnt for every coach and community, not just Northwestern or the city of Rock Hill.
