Does anyone have a thought or opinion on the matchup between Fort Dorchester and The Creek. Dorchester introduced the freshman QB vs Berkeley last week and they were not prepared for the vertical onslaught that his arm brought. The Creek will have film to see what this kid can do. If I was LaPrad I would continue to utilize both Sabb and Osborne in the game and try to get both on the field.
I am curious if The Creek has anyone that can bruiser the ball up the middle because no one has been able to so far. Dutch Fork is vulnerable against the run. They couldn’t stop Mallard Creek so this is an area to start building up for.

Re: Thoughts on Fort Dorchester vs Goose Creek this week
Saw goose creek in a scrimmage. May river gave them a fit.but it was a scrimmage. And gators qb wasnt in.
That was a month ago.so its probably irrelevant anyway.
Fort needs to be focused .overlook noone.
I like both qbs .i believe our frosh needs some more seasoning. But is good enough to play some also.Which most freshman do.i think some game minutes could do that aswell as the tutelage of our sr qb showing him how to read
Defenses better and such that comes with experience. I like the fact that we have two rbs capable of producing. It gives a rb a break from pounding all game.in the 4th both rbs are fresher thats a good thing.

Re: Thoughts on Fort Dorchester vs Goose Creek this week
look for the creek to play fast tempo with lots of runs and screens/short throws. Fort should win based on the scores I've seen
Re: Thoughts on Fort Dorchester vs Goose Creek this week
Thats what they were trying on may river .about 70%passing.most series anyway.creek center lost his composure a few times.may river kid may have been 225 .he was giving creek center and guard fits.but that dont matter.Onion Rings wrote:look for the creek to play fast tempo with lots of runs and screens/short throws. You were spot on on what they run.worst thing the creek ever did was irritate chuck reedy out of there.

Not much offense from the creek.
Not a good showing by us.
Creek took a strip back 82 yds .other score was a fumble at our 5 or so.the threw a nice pass to the corner. This was a very odd game .

Again another opponent that might could have beaten the Fort if they could have capitalized on their mistakes. The Creek had the size, the numbers and the passing and running game to play with Fort but constantly were getting fairly penalized. I saw only one penalty in the first half that should have been a pass interference call but GC couldn't get out of their own way.
You have a QB at the Creek that if he would learn to not throw a bullet for every pass then some of the balls might be caught. He did make some key runs that were good, and I thought that the take aways (fumbles and interceptions) tonight were the most I have seen against the Fort all season. LaPrad may need to learn to disguise the fact that Sabb is going to carry the ball every time he is inside the 3 yard line. At some point during the season someone is going to catch on to it. Every time, 3 times tonight before I left at the end of the 3rd qtr he carried for a TD inside the 3 yard line.
The receivers for the most part for the Creek were the best that Fort has seen in competition. They caught the ball 70% of the time very well. Again that pct. would rise if the QB for the Creek would learn to lay the ball into their hands sometimes. Just a few thoughts...

We got penalties aswell .if we dont have butter fingers its a different game.we also used a freshman qb a whole lot.with out turnovers creek doesn't score .we score one more.we were sloppy missed tackles ect.wasnt ever worried that the game was in jeopardy. Yes creek coulda but we coulda to.on to west Ashley.Damefan wrote:Again another opponent that might could have beaten the Fort if they could have capitalized on their mistakes. Re: Thoughts on Fort Dorchester vs Goose Creek this week
We were flat this entire game, didn't even play well and still won. We made way too many mistakes. We gotta hold on to the ball. We been deep in goose Creek territory a few times and turn it over. Seem we didn't get up for Creek. Now this guy said Creek coulda will won. Well shoulda coulda woulda. We could say the same if we held onto the ball and not fumble, we coulda score at least 50 on them but we didnt, let's not lose sight of that. Creek QB is solid but throwing rockets each pass isn't needed. Oh and that.taunting got him lit up in the second half. We start getting heat on him in the second half.a few series him nor the back up could get a pass off without running for their lives.
Re: Thoughts on Fort Dorchester vs Goose Creek this week
I wasn't impressed with the game. Everything seemed off. Fort coaches need to learn how to manage the clock, every situation isn't pass. A state championship will not be won through the air unless we are in a shootout, but with Forts defensive play we shouldn't be in one. Speaking of defense goose creek and that passing game gave fits, fort coaches should teach press and how to play inside leverage. We had wide open zones all night defensively.
