Greenwood at TL Hanna

Post by GwoodEagle2k1 »

Obviously no one expects us to win this but if the kids keep playing hard like they did last week we might can keep it from getting ugly. The coaches will have to call better plays in key moments though. We'll see.

I admire your optimism and dedication to G'Wood football. Lame duck coach usually not very effective. Not sure why they announced when they did, but good luck, yall will be back soon

Well I suppose they announced it when they did because the negativity from some of the people who support the program was getting out of hand. There was one bad apple at the woodmont game that was ripping the kids as they walked off the field which is wrong. Rip the coach all you want because he gets paid but not the kids. They can only do what they're coached. Now that people know Pippin is leaving, the negativity has gone down.

TLH not TLH of last 2 years by any means.

Saw them this week, my grandson plays for WHS. Only reason they won were 5 turnovers from WHS including a pick 6 and even at that if Rams had one more play at the end they would have won

Very plain jane offense to say the least, without big Zach Pickens in the backfield that wing t is not nearly as effective

Have not seen GWD play this year but I will say a toss up but will not take much to beat them.

Westside toughest game they have had, really wanted to see TLH play BHP but that game got cancelled.

A week ago I wouldn’t have given a copper cent for Greenwood’s chances in this one but after Hanna’s performance against Westside the Eagles might have some hope. I still gotta go with the Jackets though. I just don’t think it will be the massive blowout I once expected.

I know this might be hard for you to believe but Westside is by no means a bad football team. They're not on the level of Dorman but they are big and physical.

I just don’t buy it. Westside was drug up and down the field by Boiling Springs in Week 1. The Rams would have to have improved a whole lot from then if they are suddenly good now. I just think Hanna isn’t quite the beast that people thought, or that they were a year ago- just as Ram fan said.

Hanna is still decent, but not nearly as good as they were last year. Most importantly they can turn and hand it to Pickens that guaranteed about 4 yards just because he was such a monster.

As far as Greenwood? Obviously doesnt appear that there is the talent there to do anything serious this year. As far as announcing the coaching change so early, it almost had to be done. Emotions were really running higher, and higher, with each disappointment. That seemed to be sort of diffused after the Lauren's loss. Who knows what happens. Does the coach not care, and the players feel the same? Or does it take the pressure off and everyone relaxes and things get better?

Emerald got beat by TL Hanna 40 to 7. It will be the same outcome or worst.
