Big. Athletic. Strong. All could be used to describe West Wood in most years as it appears to be the case again this season. They are 4-1 after beating Fairfield Central(2-4) in Winnsboro 26-7.
From an athletic stand point they can probably match anybody in the state. They have beaten Blythewood(4-2) 14-7 in a rivalry game. Lower Richland(1-4) and South Aiken(0-5). So, they are all over the place between being able to beat a good Blythewood team to losing to Lugoff-Elgin(2-4). Hard to guage these guys really off the schedule. Stallions will have to be on point if they hope to win is all you can really say.
South Pointe came out and showed some aggressive play calling offensively this past week! It paid off. We need to keep it up in this game if we hope to have a chance against WW.
Keep it simple and get the ball into play makers hands as much as possible. On defense take care of the run 1st and make it tough on the Red Hawks when they throw it!
The two best teams in the region going by non-conference record! This game could be for the region title Friday night! Of course the rest of the teams in the region will have their say!
Should be a good one - but if the Stallions show up and execute SP football they win! If they show up with this "look cute passive-aggressive" stuff we might be done. Stay aggressive and get it to the play makers! Stuff the run(run blitz).

I'm rooting for Westwood, my last child attends there. I'm hoping they may finally get past the South Pointe beast. I'm not sure WW is as good as their record would indicate, based on who they've beaten. However, SP is down this year, based on their standards, That being said, most teams would love to be as good as SP is during this "down" season. Hoping for a good, injury free game for both teams. Also, I can't understand how ANYONE could schedule SP for homecoming, but WW did...

Cavaliereagle - am I correct in saying WW has their own stadium? I believe it's Ridge View and Blythewood who share correct? WW is a right off the interstate while Blythewood and RV are lefts basically. Off Killian.

I hope you're right! Greenville had been scoring well before playing SP so maybe the defense can carry their game to Columbia and help the Stallions pull off a win. I just hope the offensive line comes to play and creates some running lanes and give Tahleek time to throw. And that the play calling is aggressive. Trust your guys to come down with it or nobody.

Yes, WW has it's own stadium at the school. You'll be coming on 77 South. Take the Wilson Blvd exit to the right. Take the first right onto Community Rd. First left into the stadium. Blythewood & RV share a stadium on the campus of Blythewood High. If you were going there, you'd take a left on Wilson Blvd and it would be about 2 miles on the left.5thqtr wrote:cavaliereagle wrote:I'm rooting for Westwood, my last child attends there. Though South Pointe is 5-0, it doesn’t seem as if they are really impressing anyone. The same could be said about Westwood with the loss to Lugoff-Elgin (who is actually decent this year). I think Westwood wins this one at home.

Unless West Wood has another Player like Cam Smith that played Safety and multiple other positions last Season, and is now with the Gamecocks, I don't see this being much of a Challenge for South Pointe.

No Cam Smith's at Westwood this year. I actually like a team better without super stars. It stops the opposing team from keying on one player. Of course, there are advantages to both situations.

Thanks Cav-Eag - I am trying my best to finish with what I have at work so I can get down there! Going to give it the old college try; if not i'll have to listen on the radio.cavaliereagle wrote:Yes, WW has it's own stadium at the school. You'll be coming on 77 South.
