Gaffney @ Dorman

Gaffney will no doubt be the best team the Cavs have faced so far this season by a longshot. This game is a huge one in Region 2-5A. The Indians absolutely must have this game for a chance to win the region. The Cavs need it to keep pace with theByrnes Rebels and have a chance to take control of the region the next week at Byrnes. Lose this game and the Cavs could be looking at a third place region finish and a much harder road in the playoffs. Both teams have put up big number offensively and I’d say the offenses are pretty close to a push. But you objectively must give Dorman the edge on defense. While the Cavs haven’t faced a murderer’s row, their defense has been absolutely stifling so far, surrendering only 35 points in their six big wins. While I realize that the Indians are fully capable of matching or exceeding that total by themselves, Gaffney will definitely move the ballon the Cavs and put up points, but I think the Cavalier defense will be up to the challenge when they absolutely must be. You also have to give Dorman the edge on coaching...not many would disagree there. And while Dorman has a much weaker home field advantage than I think they should (too much of a wine and cheese thing going on), it still helps that this game is not at The Reservation. So I have to give Dorman the nod. Dorman wins 41-28. I’m sure there are folks hungry to disagree. Have at it.

Going to be a great one. I got Dorman in this one, gifting Gaffney the 2.5 hr trip in round 2. Might come up and check this one out if I can get off in time.

From what I have seen. Dorman has not been tested at all. They may come in over confident(teenagers ya know). I watched Dorman play against BS and they seemed slow to get everything in gear. And WAY to many penalties that pushed them away from scoring distance. That will hurt them if they do that against Gaffney....Hurt them A LOT!!! And Gaffney has a pretty good D lineman. I don't know his name. But I believe his number is 96. He will most likely be in Dormans QB face all night. Dorman does have a coupe of descent running backs, But the O line didn't impress much. Gaffney is quick to the edge but Byrnes and others gutted Gaffney up the middle. As for Dormans Def. Im not completely convinced they are THAT good or just look THAT good due to who they have played thus far( a ok team can look unbeatable against a very poor team).

noticed the same thing from Dorman. They seem very uninspired to start the game, and make a ton of mistakes. Then when the other team challenges them, they respond and play better. Guess we will see, but I like Dorman's play calling (both sides) more than Gaffney's

I see Gaffney as being in a "MUST WIN" situation, and believe that they will give their best performance of the season. Dorman is playing for the top of the Region and have a lot to lose as well. Normally I would take the home team, but I think that Gaffney is a good enough team playing with their hair on fire, that they will make one more big play and that Injun Mojo will be the difference. Injuns in the biggest game of the year, to date. JMO
