now the vikings are trying to change history

they had a trivia question on the scoreboard last friday night and they answered that the first time they played gaffney was in 1950, I have it on good authority from a friend that has access to newspaper archives that the two teams have been playing since 1920 and with the win friday night the indians now lead the all-time series 51-50-2.

Exactly my thoughts - the SCFootballHistory site goes back to only 1950. Trying to get more info before then would require some digging.

1970, the first year SHS was a racially integrated school, they became the Vikings. New school, new beginning, new mascot, all that jazz...
