HARTSVILLE GOT YOU

The final score was not indicative of how competitive this game actually was. Before the last play of the 3rd quarter, the score was 21-17 Hartsville. They scored a TD on that last play of the 3rd quarter, and that capped a drive that was started after a Beaufort interception. Beaufort was driving to take the lead and had a pass picked off at the goal line on a quick slant route.

Hats off to the Foxes. They were the better team and knew how to finish off a close game. This little team that couldn't, almost did. Nothing to hang your heads about. Beaufort was a much better team than that 4-6 record will show. Proud of the effort and proud of all those that sat through some miserable conditions to support their teams.

Hartsville got the second half kickoff, and we held them. They punted and we drove and kicked a FG. 21-17. Next possession, we held them on downs before driving inside their 5. Had 1st and goal and wound up with the pick on 3rd and goal. They got a huge return and managed to score on the last play of the 3rd quarter. Beaufort had 1st and goal inside their 5 yard line twice in the 3rd quarter and only got 3 points. Hartsville killed us with execution. Flawless with only a late interception in the closing seconds of the first half. They are an extremely well coached team with size and speed. This was my first Beaufort game this year. I had given up after the 0-5 start. BEF was right all along when he was saying that playing all of those good teams would pay off in the end. People will see the final score and think that Hartsville rolled us. Couldn't be any less accurate. This was a very good game between 2 very good teams. Best of luck to the Foxes the rest of the way. They are a 48 minute football team. They will be a tough out for anyone here on out.

Blah blah blah.....and I ALMOST hit the powerball last week!!!! Unfortunatly....i must agree Beaufort played some tough teams and got their butts whooped but won the region. Congrats boys!

Hey Slicker. I am very sad that Beaufort lost and The Eagles 2019 Football Season is over. But I was proud of how Beaufort played in this game. They gave Hartsville all that they wanted in this game. The Eagles played them tough and like Penguin said it was only 21-17 Hartsville until the last seconds of the 3rd Quarter. It was great seeing Penguin at the game and enjoying a late night dinner with him and his wife after the game. I am liking the direction that this Beaufort Football team is headed under New Head Coach Bryce Lybrand. I look for Beaufort to be a really good football team next season.
