New superintendent and he's making sweeping changes with his new AD. He's done fired Blacksburg HC and rumors are he's bringing in a certain HC who just left his position from the county the superintendent came from. We shall see.....

it sure didnt sound like his last game in his interview after the game. i cant find it online anywhere that mark barnes has left his position at sumter?

I will believe it when it happens. The rumor of Jones retiring seems to have popped up about every fall for the last five years. This year the rumors seemed stronger than ever. But have gotten to the point that I wont believe it until Jones outs out a statement

im with you but i just found out according to the wzzq sideline reporter while addressing the team after the game jones told them that "gaffney indian football will go on." that is a super odd thing to say to a big group of seniors that a large amount of them had likely just played football for the very last time ever.

We can only hope that it was the last. Way past time for changes. It’s amazing they got as far as they did with the coaching or lack thereof that they had. It’s a testament to the talent that we put on the field.

If Dan stays we will have to find a new OC from what I'm being told Donnie has a decision to make either be am administrator or coach

im thinking that new rule along with jones having to reapply every year will be the reason the superintendent gives when they can both of them with sumters coach on his way here and that will enable him to build at least part of his own staff when he accepts the job but hopefully he gets to bring in an entire staff of his own. im just wondering if jones will “resign” this coming week like the blacksburg coach did the week after their season ended or if this charade will drag out until may or whenever it is coaches official contracts signing discussion come up for the next school year.

You make some good points but I wonder why they would drag it out. I don't know if this is a charade to turn the fans against each other even more or will it really happen. All I know is if it isn't Dan's last season then he needs to find a very good OC and win the state title next year or it will be his last year
