Leave Woodmont for Blacksburg?

Because Chris Carter is not the AD at Blacksburg.

Don't know but Blacksburg getting ready to get better

Why would he not go? Blacksburg really is pretty good with the players they get and who knows some of the kids from Gaffney may move across the river now to play time will tell

Not sure what Blacksburg pays, but Greenville County isnt exactly the cash jackpot for football coaches. Not sure if he will have any teaching responsibilities in Blacksburg, but GC isnt like Spartanburg area where head coaches dont teach. And he did a great job at Woodmont. A job that would be hard to improve on. And looking at the future in that area both Woodmont, and Hillcrest, are going to be impacted by the new Ft Inn Higj school that will be opening in 2021

Congratulations to Blacksburg. Gaffney still stuck with Harry and Lloyd.

Here is the deal- Woodmont got better the day Jet arrived. He assembled a great staff and had a group that cared for the kids and could coach their tails off. The job they did on Greenwood was masterful on both sides of the ball- I was IMPRESSED. Now- Jet is leaving and the pressure is on the AD- who I hear is inept. Seldom you hear of someone that no one likes- but I digress. Can he make another great hire or does he allow Woodmont to fall back to mediocre at best. Keeping in mind, it is Greenville county and their hands will be tied by the district. I suggest someone on staff and hope the staff stays intact. I know there is a successful former head coach on staff- give it to him. If the AD branches out then the program will fall. My 2 cents- take it or leave it.

they already have a qb, wr and stud lb on the roster at blacksburg that live in gaffney. in cherokee county you can attend whatever school you want as long as you have your own transportation. i can see even more players transferring from here to blacksburg now! if they dont get rid of coach jones soon then i don’t know if we will be able to field a team. i bet the stud lb will be playing some fullback also in jet’s offense.

i just looked on social media and found even more players who live in gaffney on the blacksburg roster from this past season.

Notabyrnesfan you are spot on and I agree. I know several kids that have transferred to Blacksburg from Gaffney in the last few years
