Head coaches, yes. Assistants, no.

no such rule...each district is different!

Technically required but can always go through Pace program after the fact

pay goes up the more years you are a certified teacher. I think the thinking here is that high schools are not football factories

For all sports besides football, it seems to be ok to not be a certified teacher. Not sure why football is treated differently

It's in a school district's best interest to hire ADs and HCs that are certified.

I know some youth coaches that swear they are better than anybody walking a high school or college sideline in this state. They tell me about it all the time.

The guy that started this thread is likely one of those youth coaches.

Either that or he considers himself to be a really good Madden play caller.
