Am I missing something? This hire makes no sense. You have the Frost brothers who turned CC into a powerhouse while there were there.
Now you're hiring a rec ball coach?
Was he a big time football coach before?

Folks at Spring Valley during the time listed have never heard of him.

If he was in the CC youth program, he probably had some influential parents pushing for him. And at a place like CC there are some very influential parents that are used to making the rules. True that the Frost brothers turned them into a powerhouse. But that ended when the SCHSL bumped them up to 2A where the road hasnt been very easy.
