Doubt there will be a line of successful coaches lined up for this job. Mann ought to just go back and hire Mickey Crocker. Is he going to push Mann to an upper level program? No. But neither is anybody else. When Mann moved up in class years ago they suddenly found themselves not being as successful against the Byrnes, Dormans, of the world as they did in 3A football. At that point the blue bloods on Parkins Mill Rd decided Crocker was the only thing keeping them from being elite and that a change would fix it. I think they have been through three coaches since with nothing to show for it. In fact the program just got worse. Mann, like most Greenville schools, isn't going to compete with the elites, but can elevate to compete with the other GC schools. Beat them in that region and that probably gets you in the playoffs. And that is about the best they can ask for in 5A.
