How Long Before Schools Start Cutting Individual Sports

My curiosity is with the loss of revenue who and how will the schools afford to pay the officials, security, travel expenses, etc for a whole school year?? So many expenses that will be affected by the loss of revenue not just by the sports teams but for the whole year.

Some larger school districts have sports built into their budgets but most don't. Booster clubs will undoubtedly have to step up but the public is a little short on change (no pun intended) right now so donations will not be what they have been in the past.

I wonder how many sports could/will end up being dropped by individual schools due to a lack of funds that have not been talked about yet?? Colleges are doing it, High Schools will too when they don't have funds. #ElephantintheRoom

Great question, but SC is lucky in that the 'pay to play' structure of many states hasn't trickled down yet so there is room for that kind of participation.

On the flip side, there are many that question way tax payer money should be spent on these endeavors.
