SCHSL schools approved to have fans
Scott Chancey -- 27 August, 2020 -- The Morning News -- SCNow.com

..... the state Department of Commerce approved the South Carolina High School’s request to be exempt from Gov. Henry McMaster’s order that events either host half capacity or crowds of 250 or fewer — whichever is smaller.

...fans must mask up at all times. ....family groups must also follow other social-distance protocols such as being six feet apart. ...tailgating or socializing in large groups is not allowed. ....school districts will determine the capacity — which still must be less than half the original full capacity number.

That 50% limit will not hurt 98% of the schools in this state, but that other 2% will feel it in their pocketbook.

I read yesterday that the S.C. Department of Commerce approved 1000 fans for scisa games.

Perhaps I'm reading this wrong. But it says 250 or 50 percent capacity, whichever is smaller. Since they want you to use the smaller one, that means most will be limited to 250. Most stadiums hold much more than that. It will be felt.

I read something else that says this is for indoor sports only. Not outdoor sports.

The excerpt may not have been clear, they have approved an exemption to that rule. The exemption will allow them to have up to 50% capacity.
