I had a chance to browse through the GHS record books. It is a very good read for the greenwood fan or casual football fan. I had no idea Hootie Johnson (a chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club) was a greenwood football player. He was also one of the 1948 Greenwood Shrine Bowl selections. I would like to encourage the younger greenwood fans to take a look and learn your history. I will provide the link below. Click the link and then hover over the "more" tab to the right of the "donate" tab. You will then see an option to select "GHS FOOTBALL HISTORY". Select it and you will be prompted to either view or download a microsoft excel spreadsheet with all the info on it. Hope you all enjoy.

here are some coaching stats wins/losses/ties ect....
Shell Dula 116-43-0
Willis Burkett 107-51-0
Gene Cathcart 58-12-0
****Pinky Babb 336-81-23 **** This one pretty much says it all.....
I think people need to be reminded of how much coach babb won at greenwood. They didn't name the stadium after him for no reason. Babb put greenwood football on the map.

Probably most the old school knows. But like the other greenwood poster said it's for the young cats that are coming up. Or anybody that wants to learn something new about eagle football. Not everybody knows everything.

I know. I was just referring to Coach Babb. I feel like it's almost impossible to be a Greenwood Eagle fan and not know about J.W. Babb. Not trying to shame anyone though. There's lot of things in the record books and history I didn't know either.

Thanks for sharing that was pretty cool to look at the history of a very storied program from the upstate. It was cool to look at some of those names and remember back to some of those games with the Eagles and the Indians
