Hey Fortfor5. Beaufort's Local Newspaper "The Beaufort Gazette" really doesn't do a good job on covering Local Sports now. The Gazette only has 1 sportswriter now and he is based in Columbia because he also is the Sportswriter for The State Newspaper so he mainly covers high school's in the Columbia area. Yes there is a great Sports Site LowcoSports that covers Local Sports in Beaufort and Jasper Counties but it isn't a Newspaper. The Post and Courier is now the Largest Newspaper in SC. They claim to cover all of the Lowcountry. When Phillip Bowman was the Prep Writer for the Post he covered all of the teams in The Lowcountry but when he left and they got David Shelton he only covers The Charleston Area Teams. The Post and Courier is sold all over the State and has subscribers all over the Lowcountry from Hardeeville to Mount Pleasant. I have been a subscriber to The Post and Courier for many years. I wrote to them and said that they need to cover all of the Lowcountry Schools since they claim to be The best Newspaper in the Lowcountry and State. Hopefully they will include the Beaufort and Jasper County Schools soon as well.
