Laurens at Greenwood

Based on the situation and what I see with it being a covid year, a new coach; attempting to run a new offense that they haven't had much time to practice. My heart wants Greenwood, but my analytics say Laurens. They know what they're running and have a chip on their shoulder because the coach left on their best year. The energy is back and it feels great! But changing to a new offense from Pippin's 90 percent run spread will take some time for sure. We ran similar back in Cathcart's days with great success, so that may help. My heart says Greenwood and I'm pulling for my Eagles, just not sure there has been enough practice opportunities to get the offense completely ironed out. One thing I do know is they're going to have to energy. That may help. Thoughts?

With the restrictions that have handicapped all of the schools in the state i would probably expect to see a small portion of the offense installed for this game and then as the year progress you may see more and more of the playbook installed and opened up. I don't think you will have to much to worry about Friday night. I say Greenwood by 14

I mostly agree with this. However, we need to get it done. Like you said it's tough because they've not been able to practice like normal. But we've lost to these teams way too many times the past 6 years. Not sure what the score will be but I strongly believe we'll be ok in this one. Defense will just have to bow up until the O catches up.

I like the way you are thinking and yea you are right the D will have to bow up and let the offense get caught up. Is it me or the 1st game or 2 is the defense not ahead of the offense anyways or is that just me

Greenwood 38
Laurens 17

Greenwood's defense will be too much for Laurens. As far as the new offense.....Cathcart ran the same thing and the players pick up and ran with it. It's not complicated to run like the spread offense. Just got to have the blocking up front.

Laurens is running a new offense as well with a young QB. Not sure about defense. Without Duane Martin at running back it will be very interesting to see what the rest of the team has retained in talent.

The weather looks to be rainy and that can impact a throwing game. This one will be interesting.

My bet is on Chris Liner to win it. Not familiar with the Laurens coach to know how he leads in situations like this.

A blowout with a new coach and new offense, and it will probably rain. Hmm. Remember the ball was being dropped some in the scrimmage even with it dry. I thought about it. Running the same offense from 2010-2013 has little to do with this team. None of these kids ran it. There is no clear answer. Just have to see.

Running a new offense? Interesting. What are they running? This coach was an assistant of Liner's if I'm remembering correctly. They will be familiar with knowing what Greenwood is getting ready to do on offense because it's what they ran. This helps them.
