Daniel vs Berea

This one will get ugly fast. I expect a running clock in the second half. This is our last game before playoffs and I’m just wanting a clean game with no injuries.

Can’t make it because of my son has a game to play in but I think if they don’t run the clock Daniel could put up triple digits. Hope we stay healthy and play a lot of the younger guys and get them plenty of reps. Hate that it’s going to be a long layoff til the playoffs start . Daniel is so hot right now I wish the playoffs were tomorrow.

Final score 67-0. I felt guilty just cheering at this game because it was a big time blowout. Berea looked like a 1A team and the positive thing they can take away from this game is they blocked 2 extra points. We had backups in very early to minimize the chance of injuries heading into the BYE week then playoffs. Also this might be the earliest game I’ve ever gotten out of a game in my life thanks to the running clock.

It’s clear at this point of the season that Daniel and Chapman are the two best in 3A upper state and Dillon and Camden in lower state. All four teams are easily capable of winning the title this year and to me it’s just who shows up with their best when the time comes.

Onion, and his Daniel team would beat the one you saw two years ago by two to three touchdowns easily. This is a team that doesn’t have that crazy star player but has about 10 guys on offense that can house it at anytime . Just so deep. Most high school teams don’t have 1 good qb , they have 3. And they can play, and do play multiple positions.
I will say this with no disrespect, and if I’m wrong I’m wrong but outside of Dutch Fork if we’re on our A game we would go toe to toe with pretty much anyone in the state. You
better score 40 and hope they turnover the football or have some weird unlucky bounces. That being said they still got to beat the champs in Chapman and I would say their going to have to probably beat Wren again in upstate. Btw they could’ve easily put 50 plus on that team . That was the worst played all year. Look what they did to the region 2 undefeated champ last night . Put 63 on plametto. I’ll say this I really like their chances but we haven’t been in a close game and know how to react in one . That’s my biggest concern.

You brought up a great point with how they will react in a close game. Specifically a team that is equally talented as they are. I truly think Chapman will be the toughest test and that game could be as good as South Pointe in 2018 where I was lucky enough to be apart of that team. So I’m a bit biased when you suggest a matchup between this team and the one from two years ago.

That team was a great team but Daniel was trying to develop a winning culture again that frankly Randy Robinson when he left the program was in shambles and I give Fruster credit for building it back right. The biggest thing was the Wofford hire that 2nd year . It got the offense back right and now three years later it’s just so in sync.
That’s the biggest difference in my opinion, just a continuity and familiarity thing. It’s second nature now. Plus the depth is there. I may go to walhalla Chapman game next week just to check them out.

I credit Coach Wofford much more than Coach Fru. Just being on the team it felt more like it was Wofford’s team. We changed up everything to what he had done at Northwestern. But in that one year the foundation was built and even after he left the team has just kept building up. This could be the year it all comes together because like you said the offensive depth and experience, as well as the defense being stout in each game, it’s maybe the most complete team I can remember seeing since the 2013 team.

Wofford has NW playing well in year 2. Not saying they are ready to take 5A upstate, but to be in the conversation again

his play calling was good for Daniel and a factor. Is there play calling as good now?
