2020 SCPrepTalk SCHSL 5A Playoff Projection:
Hillcrest @ T.L. Hanna
Battle for for 1st place in 5A Region 1.
Both teams are LOCKED into the playoffs.
Winner will be Home against Ridge View.
Loser will play at Northwestern.

2020 SCPrepTalk SCHSL 4A Playoff Projection:
Westwood @ Irmo
Battle for for 2nd place in 4A Region 4.
Winner will be play at Westside in Round 1 of the 4A playoffs.
Travelers Rest @ Pickens
Battle for 2nd place in 4A Region 1. (Possibility for a 3-way tie)
Tiebreaker is Point-differential among the tied teams in that scenario.
Pickens
- Beat Walhalla 46-30 (+16)
If Pickens beat Travelers Rest they are in.
If Pickens loses to TR by 14 or less they are in the playoffs.
Travelers Rest
- Lost to Walhalla 14-27 (-13)
If Travelers Rest beats Pickens by 15 or more points.
The Devildogs make the playoffs.
Walhalla (2-2 in Region)
- Lost to Pickens 30-46 (-16)
- Beat TR 27-14 (+13)
The Razorbacks are in the clubhouse at -3.
Myrtle Beach @ North Myrtle Beach
Battle for for 1st place in 4A Region 6.
Both teams are LOCKED into the playoffs.
Winner will be Home against an *At-Large opponent.
Loser will play at South Aiken.

Newberry @ Batesburg-Leesville
Battle for for 2nd place in 2A Region 3.
Winner will be play at Chesnee in Round 1 of the 2A playoffs.
Loser will have an opportunity for an *At-Large spot.
Cheraw @ Andrew Jackson
Battle for for 2nd place in 2A Region 4.
Winner will be at HOME against Andrews in Round 1 of the 2A playoffs.
Loser will have an opportunity for an *At-Large spot.
Wade Hampton-H @ Pelion
Region Title is on the line for Pelion.
If Pelion wins - Pelion will be 1st in Region and Barnwell will be 2nd.
If Wade Hampton-H wins - Barnwell will be 1st in Region and Wade Hampton-H will be 2nd.

Southside Christian @ Whitmire
Region Title is on the line.
If Southside Christian wins - The Sabres will be Region Champs.
If Whitmire wins it could force a 3-way tie for the top spot in 1A Region 1.

I was told this morning by somebody who knows that the loser of the Newberry vs Batesburg game will be the at-large team and will travel to Abbeville.

Again, I'm convinced that the SCHSL just doesn't try very hard. The #2 team from the 7-team region shouldn't have to travel to the #2 team from the 5-team region. Is it laziness, indifference or "midlands" bias?
Either way, one of those MB schools will be smarting from a tough loss and irritated after a 3 hour bus ride. They will take it out on the Thoroughbreds. The phrase, "Beaten like a rented mule." comes to mind.
