Any thoughts, comments on this one? Info on Chesnee? Do not know much of them this year, they have been more of a finesse team, an offensive team, in the past if I remember correctly. They did beat us last time we played, in 2013 or 2014, we were down both years. Other than that I believe we have beaten them, including a last second playoff win in 1991 at Chesnee. Great game, for upper state I believe. Looking forward to the game, so glad to be playing football this time of year. Safe travels to everyone.

I really think Abbeville will beat Chesnee by 30 or more.
they have a pretty good team but can't stay with the speed
or talent of Abbeville.the Panthers are head and shoulders
above any 2a team in the state this year in my opinion.
as you know Barnwell was the best in the lower state
the last 2 years and got beat badly by Abbeville in 2018
and Saluda last year.I would love to see A-Town complete
the year without being scored on in s.c..that would be something.
GO GET'EM PANTHERS!

I don't see Abbeville having any issues in this one. If Newberry would have done anything in the first half Friday night, they would be in this game. Plenty of chances and a dropped 2 point play means we are at home.

Chesnee is going to try and establish the FB, then play the QB/WB run game off of him in the option. The QB has some speed and is shifty. The FB isn't overly big, but he runs hard. The WB's are more shifty guys that look to cut then get north/south. The passing game is none existent.

I don't see both teams combining for more than 10 passes in the game. I don't think Chesnee will be able to move the ball on yalls defense at all. They didn't score in the 2nd half vs us. I also don't think they will be able to stop yalls offense. Newberry rushed for nearly 200 yards in the 2nd half on them, and were running guys over.

I take Abbeville by 35 or more.

My prediction...

Abbeville- As much as they want
Chesnee- As little as Abbeville wants them to have

Abbeville's first big defensive test of the year comes in the next round when they face Gray Academy. Gray has a running back and QB that is the real deal. ;)

Winner of the Abbeville/Gray Academy game also wins State! 8-)

I went to the Abbeville vs Liberty game earlier this month. I won’t lie I left at halftime because I knew I’d seen enough to know Abbeville is about to go take back their championship. This week will be more of the same for the Panthers and Gray Collegiate will put up some of a fight next week but it won’t be enough. The revenge tour for Abbeville won’t stop until they raise a trophy over their heads.
