SF vs MB for the last Time

Maybe, just maybe, SF can beat MB before the rivalry comes to a end this yr. Bruins are looking tough this yr and coming off the heals of Coach Prince's father passing, they are more fired up than ever.

Players to watch:

Offense Tabari Hines, this kid has a Bo Jackson look to him, can run like a spooked deer and can shuck and jive with the best of them.
Defense: Tyshon Jones, big nose tackle who's as strong as 10 bulls, reining state champ in weightlifting in the 260lb class. 5 sacks thru 3 games.

The video highlight linked below includes two receptions and one punt return by Tabari Hines. :D

WPDE Video - South Florence vs Wilson, Week 2

I can't imagine that MYB would want the series to end. Their choice of non-region opponents is geographically limited, SF has provided competitive games and good gate receipts. However, Lake City is going to replace Socastee in region 3A-7 and I'm sure that Socastee will be added to MYB's non-region schedule. Somebody has to come off and it won't be Conway or Carolina Forest. Either SF or WF will get dropped.

SF & WF will have several closer 3A schools they can schedule in 2014 & 15: Wilson, Darlington, Hartsville, Lake City, Marlboro County, Crestwood, Lakewood, Manning & Camden.

I was told that we are dropping MB and Lake City
And that we are going to try to get Blythewood and Lugoff-Elgin.
We should drop Wilson, but that's just my opinion.

I'm glad this is hopefully going to happen, we need to start playing more 4A teams to help recruiting.

It sounds like we're trying to schedule more 4A schools to maximize playoff points.

South Florence turns corner with win over Myrtle Beach
Conan Gasque | WBTW

FLORENCE – As South Florence coach David Prince walked around the Florence Memorial Stadium field before the Bruins 48-21 win over Myrtle Beach Friday, he wasn't happy about what he saw.

Something just gave him the sense that his players didn't believe they could knock off the Seahawks. It's an understandable mindset given the fact that South Florence had never beaten Myrtle Beach in six tries all-time. But for Prince, it was unacceptable.

There's a pretty good highlight video at the headline link.

Socastee will be in 4A-6 so that will be a region game that replaces the "gap filler" game we currently have with Stratford in week 10. SF will need to pick up one more opponent or sign with Stratford for a Week 0 to 6 game.

* Gap filler game: Regions 6 & 7 currently only have 5 members each, once region play begins the team in each region without a region opponent play each other.

SF, I imagine you're quite happy at this point in the season with the way things are going for SF. I think it's really cool. I got to get over that way as soon as I can and see a SF game. What would you consider to be your next big game on the schedule?

IMO, probably Ridge View on Oct 3rd, their 2-1 and I hear that they are pretty decent this year.
