Large High Schools

Post by 1 CAT FAN »

On the way back home from a mountain trip in Tennessee, traveling on Interstate 26, my wife looks over at a large facility and says. What's the name of that college? I reply, that's Dorman High School??!!
We both were in awe.

Take a ride through the school. It's much bigger than it looks from the highway.

Heck the 9th grade campus is the size of most schools in this state.

First time I went up there to watch Newberry's boys team play in their Christmas tournament, I was amazed by their "arena". I was also amazed when I saw a high school kid take off from the free throw line in a game and throw down a monster dunk. Also by high schools walking in with multiple 7 footers on their team. Newberry had a team that won state that year, and looked like little kids compared to the size of the other teams. Still won some games in the tournament.

I like the big schools. Wish there were more with 2-3 thousand students. They offer a lot to a lot of different kids
