South Pointe Stallions 2021

Post by 5thqtr »

I knew the Stallions would go through some growing pains because of a very new and inexperienced coaching staff! However, year 3 I think will be much better for the Stallions.

I like the look of this team. A concerted effort has been made to get more physical in the middle of the field. When SP is good - the middle of the field is at least above average to outstanding!
Plus, hard lessons learned by our young coaches who had to go through those growing pains I think will pay off.

I really like our young QB! 6 ' 5 225.

We have a Syracuse CB commit on the team as well.
Some nice young players who seem to have really worked their butts off to get more physical(which we were not last couple years).

Good Luck Stallions! Hopefully we do not have an abbreviated season and hopefully the Stallions are as good as their potential to be this year!

Good luck to South Pointe this year. I believe SC football is at it's best when teams like South Pointe are back to where they belong. I hope the Stallions have a great year this year.

I hope that South Pointe has a good season with Holloman at the Helm. But I heard that South Pointe did not look good at all in their Scrimmage against Camden. Good luck to the Stallions this year!!!!

Dont think the DeVonte Holloman experiment is going as planned. Previously, they crushed everyone in their path. Now just another decent team. Something has been lost there and I don't see that changing. They will be pretty good, but don't see much more than that.

Hey Cover Three. I was wondering the same thing. The last few Seasons The Stallions have lost in the First Round and the 2nd Round of the Playoffs. I know they are used to going further then that. Coach Holloman was the Head Coach of My Eagles for only 1 season and then went to South Pointe. I was hoping that he would have stayed longer at Beaufort. I was kind of upset that he left. But we have a very good Head Coach now in Bryce Lybrand. I hope that Coach Holloman has a good career at South Pointe though. Since that is his Alma Mater. We shall see what happens this season.

That program will never be the same and it was the ultimate head scratcher not promoting the head coach from within a state championship and national program at the time. Time will tell.

Love the Stallions but the thing they are missing is an offensive play caller that can game plan and then make adjustments during the game

they are still ultra athletic but need a better overall offensive plan. Play callers make all the difference

South Pointe under Coach Holloman reminds me of Clemson "Before they figured out you had to build a solid OL and DL to go with all that speed"! Once Clemson ( minus last year ) started getting more physical up front they went to another level as a program. From good program to one that could smack Alabama by 4 TD's and take a few knees so it wouldn't be 5 on National TV!

South Pointe again has some really really good WR and CB options! Multiple at each position. Same with LB and RB.

I can almost tell you the years SP will contend or not based on the OL and DL. This can be said about many teams - but it has been particularly true for SP over the years! Another level good when particularly the OL is good!
We shall see: I haven't been able to check them out to this point.

And, I do not disagree with the overwhelming sentiment on the board! What you did years ago has no bearing on your ability to contend "this year"!

I think the staff needs to take another step "up" as well! Learn from the hard lessons learned in the past and take steps to address it "all off season and beyond"! Do what you do well and do not let it slip. Then work on and improve on those things you are not good at by being honest with yourself as a staff!
