A Quick update from Dave

For the first time ever I have missed three straight weeks of HS football and I am destined to miss most if not all of this season.
2 weeks ago I had a CT scan and angio due to a few health issues. We did not think anything about it and it was just to rule out a possibility.
Unfortunately, the CT scan revealed an issue.
Last Tuesday the news got even worse.
I had a Cath and the test revealed a blockage. In fact, it revealed 2 full 100% blockages in my heart.
The good news is we caught it before tragedy. The heart is still strong, the valves on both sides of the blockages are healthy and the heart had starting repairing itself by creating secondary functions and creating a new blood flow.
The bottom line is I am going to have double bypass heart surgery next Monday. it was completely unexpected but I am grateful the doctors did their diligence and found the blockage. I could have coded out in a hotel room in some strange city so I am glad to be home and have excellent care.
Next Monday I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers. The doctor is very optimistic about me being 100% better when this is done but obviously I have a road ahead of me. I am looking at 3 months in recovery.
Thanks and hopefully I can make a game late in the season assuming Covid is better under control.
God Bless all of you and please be careful out there.
