Ninety Six had 15 players out last Friday.I doubt that any coach
wants to cancel games. They were scheduled to play Saluda a couple weeks ago.
Saluda had to cancel that game because of Covid.

When I said that teams were cancelling games on purpose in week zero everyone jumped me.

It’s amazing that certain teams haven’t had problems
DF fort gaffney Greenville Greenwood Abbeville
S Christian Byrnes Daniel etc etc

And others get it a lot or when it’s convenient
There are exceptions of course and I’m not putting it on the kids . But it just is suspicious.

Now the reality is hitting.

These schools need the gates that provide the money for basically every other sport.

We need to go out and support these schools in person
Eat there if you can and buy a hat or t shirt
They are really hurting for the money.

That’s why any game you can get in is important even if doesn’t have an effect on the teams long term goals.

96 doesn't have enough to play with 15 out...............look, this click doesn't fool me at all but they have fooled you at every turn...............there is NOTHING that they weren't willing to do to get this coach the head job and there is nothing they won't do to keep it for him...........96 football is no longer about the kids, that went away years ago................it's all about 1 guy now, a coach who will never have a decent program............it is sickening..........

Just an observation on my part, but this may be part of the issue...
EVERYONE didn't jump on you, a couple of folks. Exaggeration and lumping everyone into the same bucket seems to get folks on edge quite quickly.

Byrnes has had issues, not enough to cancel any games, yet!, but there have been issues. There have also been issues with our defense and injuries where we might have been better off using COVID as an excuse....

A very good point. Just like we need to do at the other small businesses and "Mom and Pop" Diners, pay a couple of extra bucks and support your friends and neighbors over the huge corporate giants! Local Diners would appreciate your business more than an Applebees or McDonalds.

St. James is in COVID protocol. Sumter is looking for a game this Friday.

Look we go round and round on this covid thing.

I made the point that people would use this as an excuse when it was beneficial to them. And I have seen just that.
Quarantine is supposed to 14 days right. Laurens cancels on Daniel on a Monday but good to go the next friday. Ok I was born at night but....

Byrnes have injuries and are dealing with it . That’s different than my argument. Heck Daniel is missing several lineman right now. Sure we could get in the covid protocol and heal up for a couple of weeks and heal up for region play but we’re not and most good teams and traditionally good teams are not doing that.

Some of the things that their doing In some regions is begging for shenanigans to take place.

In these regions where they’ve doubled down and said the first game doesn’t count but if the second game which is supposed to be the region game doesn’t take place then the first one counts.

Ok so let’s say Sumter and I’m not saying they would do this is just hypothetical but if they had some major injuries the week before the next game with Carolina forest well guess what . No we will just take that first win as our region win. Now how any scenario is that right . We should just say if you choose not to play for covid you forfeit. It’s not fair to penalize the teams that are either handling their players better. It’s the only way that you cut this stuff out . Then and only then will you know for sure if there’s a true problem.

In last years playoffs I think there was only 2or 3 teams that could not play and had to forfeit. It’s amazing that it was so few teams had anything happen over 4 weeks when it seems there is a good 25-30% cancellation of games every week. Those two numbers are consistent with each other.
