defense can contain the QB for Rabun.he reminds
me of Noah Bell the former Saluda QB.

That's a really good comparison from what I've seen of Stockton so far..
Most of Saluda's current players spent a lot of their time on JV playing scout team defense against Noah. Let's hope they learned a thing'er two during that time!
Also wanted to say thanks for coming to Saluda and supporting! It is greatly appreciated and I think this one will be a good one to watch. Let me know if you need anyone to sit and talk ball with!

I have been a Saluda fan since the late 50's
my cousin was QB for the tigers back then
his name is Sonny Smith.i was 11-12 years old.
my family would come to some of the games.
Saluda had pretty good teams back then.
Wendell Black and Roger Crouch are
a couple of names i remember playing with
Sonny.

I'm a pretty young fella, only 23. But my father played in the 70's and my grandfather was a booster since the 40's. I've heard all of those names some time or another in old stories. Really cool that you remember all of that! You know any Werts' from Saluda?

Not really sure what to expect out of this one but I think the Tigers will come ready to play. Just don't know much about these guys other than the QB

Rabun has some playmakers. They throw screens to set up deep shots, once they see DB's coming up to take it away, they are going over the top. Also have some good size on the line. 6 and 11 are their main WR targets. They live and die by the big play. QB is main rushing threat, they like going empty. QB power is huge for them if the numbers in the box work for them to run. If you stack the box, they don't mind firing it all over the field. The game they lost to Jefferson, they lost because Jefferson played keep away. 60 runs for 350 yards, 1 pass play that was incomplete.
If Saluda can control the ball, and keep Stockton on the sideline, I think they can win it. If Rabun is able to get stops, I don't think Saluda will be able to stop them enough times to win.

Two teams that make hay with the big play? This should be really fun.
Seems like a pretty even matchup schematics wise, and wouldn't be suprised to see a high scoring game tonight. I just don't think Rabun will be able to run the ball like we can. Both teams gonna score but who can keep their defense off the field the most?
IMO, you limit the big play, Saluda rolls.
Get caught a few times, high scoring game and might come down to the last one with the ball.
Saluda offense has caught a lot of eyes this season but I think tonight folks we'll realize just how good the defense is too. Saluda secondary will key on the deep ball, and it'll probably stay that way unless the game gets tight. I think Gunnar puts up good stat line on screens, but can't convert enough in the red zone against a solid Saluda D. Saluda takes early lead and run game keeps Rabun offense at bay.
My prediction:
Saluda 42
Rabun 24

Rabun 63, Saluda 7 final.
I watched the steam on youtube, those guys Saluda has calling the games are very entertaining! Some of their stories and one liners had me laughing.

Wow! That is a big score by Rabun. Nine TDs. Most came in first half it looks like.
