Wierd call anyone know?

Last night there was a call i havent seen.
Our tackles helmet gets pulled off.(by the facemask but thats another story) durring the play .he continues to block
Play is still going. He gets flagged for continuing to play
With his helmet off?
What in tbe holy crap is that call?

It is illegal to continue during a play, or to hit a player who's helmet comes off.
I found this explanation online: Any player who loses his helmet during a live ball situation cannot continue to participate and no player may hit a player whose helmet is completely off. If a ball carrier loses his helmet, the play stops. The penalty for participating without a helmet is a live ball foul and in some cases could be a flagrant foul.

The way the rule is written you can't have any contact once the helmet comes off. If the ball carrier's helmet comes off the refs are to blow it dead immediately. But, asking somebody that is already engage in blocking to stop is crazy, although if they did and the defense made contact with them the foul should then be called on the defense.

He was engaged and pissed .no whistles were blown till runner was down. It was smashmouth line vs line a /b gap
Running. Then a flag.
We initially thought it was for thr facemask.
Not really bitching was odd.
We were already at a Running clock. .
Meh just a bad call.

Friday night a 96 running back lowered his head and
ran over a liberty linebacker.the running back got called
targeting.first time i have seen that.also it has been
in a few years since i have seen a 96 running back run over
anybody

It is a terrible rule but I guess for safety. If a players helmet comes off they must stop participating even if the play continues. SMH

Well we found out what hes capable of.
Kid was si pissed when his helnet got tore off.he drove his guy like a beast lol.
We got a 15 ydr for that and the reciever leaped when a guy went for his knees from the side.
