Myrtle Beach clinches region title - MB 21, SF 17

Post by SF Band dad »

Congratulations to the talented and well-coached Myrtle Beach Seahawks. We hope to see you again in the lower state championship game.

Our youth and inexperience both on the field and on the sidelines revealed itself in the 4th quarter. I am dumfounded why we adopted the "Vanderbilt" defensive scheme in the 4th quarter. Myrtle beach marched right down the field for the go-ahead score. We couldn't answer.

Box score:
MB 7 7 0 7 | 21
SF. 7 3 7 0 | 17

We did just enough to win could of went either way. It’s going to get very interesting in the weeks ahead. I loved the new stadium everything very nice. Hopefully if we make it the lower state championship will be at Daug Shaw stadium in Myrtle Beach. I’m sure West Florence and Hartsville and NMB has other ideas so we shall see

I think the region 6 teams will do well in the first and second rounds. I suspect we'll see some rematches.... ;)

Thanks for the compliments on the stadium. On the home side, we were joking about the video screen glitches and time clock being messed up. That s*** is 3 months old, it damn sure better be under warranty.

I thought the band boosters offering all first responders on the vistor side a free hot-dog was a pretty classy move, I would like to see more of that.

I’ve seen South Pointe, Greenwood, AC Flora. I followed the game last night. South Florence impresses me just as much as those other teams I’ve seen if not more. As long as they stay healthy, South Florence has a chance to win a state championship…this year.

I stated that they were in good hands with Drew Marlowe. Enjoy him now before we decide to take him back after Mark Barnes decides to retire.

It’s amazing what a great coaching staff can do. Wish Conway would wake up and get serious again.

They all got MOSSED by Adam Randall on that touchdown pass he threw out of the wildcat. That’s the first time we used that play this year.
I agree that SF has a very good chance of walking the dog and kicking the cat all the way to State. I knew they were good.

I’m just glad we got the win and region championship! We just gonna enjoy this while we can. It’s not over yet it’s just beginning. The State championship comes through Myrtle Beach no matter what now. We got home field and Daug Shaw will be rocking in November. I’m sure your Bruins will be there if we take care of business on our end. See you In a month I can smell that thanksgiving turkey already!
