This week's match ups...and BRACKET PROJECTION

The biggest match up this week may be in Region VIII and the eventual Region Champ might be the winner of this game. A few times in recent years, I have felt, "Fort Dorchester has a chance to beat Summerville this season" but somehow, they manage to lose again. Is this the year they finally take Region VIII? If they win here, they would be in the driver's seat!

Beaufort -vs- Bluffton is one of those games where you can bet that there might be some severe use of the word RIVALS. Bluffton doesn't appear to be anything like last year, but Beaufort's record may be inflated some due to the schedule. I expect there will be a lot of action, but BEF should be happy late Friday night!

Ashley Ridge - Colleton County. Can CC be on a two game winning streak? Maybe.... Nah!

South Florence gets into Region Play and you think it shouldn't be much to take care of Sumter, but in reality it may be the toughest challenge that the Bruins have faced so far this season. If they stay focused, their biggest challenge will be Stratford. Bruins will be focused and should roll over Sumter....

North Augusta has two big games left... Dutch Fork in week 11 and Lexington this week. I don't think this one will be like the one I saw a few years ago (51-49 or something like that) I think the Jackets will be ready for Region Play and get things off to a good start!

Spring Valley -vs- Blythewood may be the Midlands best match up.... and the best match up that no one will be talking about since we can't seem to get any Midlands folks to post!!! Could Spring Valley be 11-0 by Week 11 and still have no one talking about them?

Dorman -vs- Spartanburg. Will the Vikings bounce back or will Dorman set them down another notch? The Vikings may have invested so much into the match up against the Rebels that it could be hard to re-focus and face off against Dorman? Nah, too big of a rivalry for that to happen! I think this game will speak volumes about Coach Miller and what he's accomplished so far at Spartanburg. Have the players bought in 100% to his system?

I hope our coach had the "Our season starts this week, we are all 0-0" speech with our players after our game Thursday night.

It was more like:

"OK, The Vanilla Iced Cup Cakes are in the past! Now we move on to the heavy portion of the schedule,
the Chocolate Iced Cupcakes!"

Just as I stated in another thread, I believe the winner of the Summerville-Fort D game will be the region champ and the loser the region runner up.

Waiting on pins and needles as well to see if 74 changes the Region 5 champ based on the Irmo win over Dutch Fork.

Hey watch out. I resemble that remark.

I've done the games for weeks 7-11 twice now and still don't feel right...

So many things?

Region One - #1 Hillcrest, #2 Greenwood, ?????, ????

Region Two - #1 Byrnes, ????, ????, ???? (I'm really stepping out on a limb here by picking on the Rebels, Gaffney still has my attention, but I'm going with the Rebels. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think the rest of the Region could be fairly evenly matched: Dorman, Boiling Springs, Gaffney, Spartanburg all could be second, but I'm leaning toward Gaffney as my #2 right now) Then who is #3 and #4? The other team will almost be sure to grab one of the five at large berths....

Region Three - #1 Northwestern, #2 York, ????, ???? Who do you go with for #3 and #4. South Pointe lost their QB, so what is the impact? Do I believe they will hang on for the #3 spot? Then maybe Nation Ford for #4 spot...

Region Four - I'm still hanging on to Spring Valley at #1.... well, almost hanging on. Irmo beating Dutch Fork get anyone else attention? Blythewood, Irmo, Spring Valley are the three, but what order?

Region Five - North Augusta, Dutch Fork, Lexington is my final answer for Region Five.

Region Six - South Florence, Sumter, who the heck gets the #3 berth? Conway has shown nothing and lost a couple of valuable players. West Florence and Carolina Forest did beat Myrtle Beach....so roll the dice here.

Region Seven - Week 11 showdown between Goose Creek and Stratford will determine the Region, but I'm going with Goose Creek then Stratford, and then....I guess West Ashley

Region Eight - I'm on record now (Fort Dorchester will beat Summerville and win Region VIII) so #1 and #2 are covered, and Beaufort appears to be the front runner for the final automatic bid.

I am going to think about it one more time, I'll publish it tomorrow..... I still have to check with Sparty to make sure I got it right! :D  :o  :D
