This is who I personally think will be playing the first week of December. These could be very wrong and that’s okay but it’s just who I’m picking right now.

5A Upper State- Theres some good teams to pick from but I think it will either be Gaffney or Northwestern. I believe the Trojans representing the upper state in Columbia.

5A Lower State- The choice is obvious, it’s slickers Stags to go on a tear these next few weeks and find their way to playing Northwestern. Just jokes, Dutch Fork will be back to defend the crown.

4A Upper State- This is a tough one since there’s plenty of good teams to pick from. I think it’ll be Greenwood making it all the way. They’ve played a tough schedule this year and found ways to win against good teams. Only loss this year was to the #1 team in the state.

4A Lower State- Another tough one to pick from. I’m gonna go out of the box with this pick. South Florence is my pick. Lost 3 games by a total of 11 points to good teams. Could be wrong. Myrtle Beach Pirates is a safer prediction but I’m rolling with the Bruins.

3A Upper State- My bias will take over here. Daniel will go to state. A sleeper pick is Chester. Clinton and Powdersville could also make noise.

3A Lower State- Everyone has been saying since the beginning of the season it’ll be Dillon reclaiming the lower state crown. While I think that could happen, it will be Oceanside playing Daniel in the championship game. They’ve been rolling after some early season losses and they’ll be in Columbia.

2A Upper State- It will be decided between Abbeville and Gray. Gray has tried and failed many times against Abbeville come playoff time and I think this year will be the same and the Panthers will be in the state title.

2A Lower State- Silver Bluff looks to be the team to beat in the Lower State but I’m going with Philip Simmons. Only loss came to Hanahan by 10 but they have been rolling since that game.

1A Upper State- Southside Christian with their recruits will roll back to Columbia. Only team that could possibly challenge is Lamar but that’s unlikely.

1A Lower State- A few teams to pick from. Bamberg is who I think will end up making it all the way. Lake View and Baptist Hill had good regular seasons but Bamberg will be the champs from the Lower State.

They’ve had a nice year for them but not a great team

I would say Spartanburg as well as most of region 2 is way overrated this year . This is not your daddy’s region 2
Northwestern then Gaffney and possibly Hillcrest in that order is who your foxes will be facing

I agree with DFOldman Spartanburg is mentally tough and physically as well. Coach Hodge has them with right mindset to take them all the way. I will enjoy watching them prove what they are made of and how far this program has come in a full year with Coach Hodge.

A couple of matchups I will be interested in seeing if they come to pass in no particular order will be the rematch of Irmo vs A. C. Flora. Then the Upperstate game between A.C. Flora and Greenwood.

I am not confident Fort will make it to play DF, but them traveling to the low country is always fun to watch whether it is Goose Creek or Fort.

Gray's vs Abbeville at Gray's will be an interesting game. Abbeville is always tough but they played Gaffney well at Gaffney so Gray gets the edge I think in this game.

Brookland Cayce vs Oceanside could also be a good game since BC gets to play at home. Charpia I think may have bigger aspirations and a State Championship or Runner-up will open doors for him.

At some point Dutch Fork is going to lose ( don't tell TK that)- may happen this season, may happen against Socastee. Hope not. They seem to be playing well and overcoming all the adversity they have faced this season. They have a good nucleus returning next season. Have to wait and see.

5A- Spartanburg is a different team with Jeter playing. Always have to keep a lookout for LaPrad and the Fort D team...

4A- Heart thinks Flora repeats or Greenwood...head says MB or SP

3A- Curious to see how Oceanside and Dillon play in Lower State...."Twisted Wistar" is the favorite, but LR and Chapman were never tied with Easley at the half. Can't unsee that. Wren may be the best team they have seen thus far, and they are ....not good.

2A- Abbeville is strong but Gray and Silver Bluff are solid.

1A- Southside Christian is just too much, I think.
