Ridge View, was ranked high in the polls to start the season. At one point was viewed as the #4 team in the state 5A. They’ve made a lot of noise in the playoffs with a big win over Clover and beating a very good Hillcrest team. I’m not sure if some of the losses were due to COVID quarantined kids not playing, however things seem to be clicking for them.

Spartanburg, seems to be getting better each week. They had a great come from behind win over their rivals a few weeks ago. It looks like they closed out Woodmont and Spring Valley before the 4th quarters the past two weeks. The Vikings now have the Upper State home field advantage (Hillcrest lost). They had early losses this season with the starting QB out. Since the Dutch Fork loss they’ve been undefeated.


Predictions and thoughts on this one.

Think this will be a really good game- I think Spartanburg may win but it will be a close game. Touchdown or less.

Vikes are favored, but I have a feeling that the Blazers may have them right where they want them.

Sorry about that. I didn't check Doodles on that, just allowed my personal opinion to be prersented as fact. No excuses for being too lazy to verify. I do know that Ridge View has been a yo-yo team this year. Up one week, down the next.

The Vkings have been much more consistent and have the Home field advantage. My head still thinks that the Vikings will prevail, while my gut wrestles with how well Ridge View has played at times this year.

If I was a betting man, my house payment money would go on Spartanburg, but if I was betting using disposable income, I would put it on the Blazers.

This is the most intriguing game in 5A this week.

Vikes are back
