That job is going to be a tough sell. They are in an attendance zone where they are unlikely to get back to their glory days before the split creating May River. Some of their supporters liked to point those same fingers at the Head. It isn't that they won't have some quality football players, it is that they may not have the numbers to have enough quality football players to compete with May River and Beaufort.

I would enjoy seeing them become relevant once more, but with things the way that they are in Beaufort County, that may be a reach at this point.

Hey Newcat, I did hear that Bluffton was going to Fire Coach Houpt but gave him the option to step down and that was the truth. This has happened to some very good past Beaufort coaches as well. Coach Houpt seems like a very cool guy and I hope that if he still wants to coach that he will land a job somewhere, Heck, I would love to see him become part of Beaufort's coaching staff. I think he would be a very good assistant Coach. ;). Newcat, have you heard of any names that we may know that has applied for this job? Do you know how many people applied?

GO BEAUFORT EAGLES!!!!
Beaufort Head Football Coach Bryce Lybrand is 43-26 after his 6th Season at Beaufort
2022 3A State Football Champions
3 State Titles in Football
I have attended 636 Beaufort Football Games
