What would it take for a new independent league to form and stay unbiased in their governance?
The SCHSL has been too inconsistent in how they handle things and are no longer capable of serving the best interest of student athletes and schools across the state.

Re: Alternative to SCHSL
Now what’s the problem?
People act like the SCHSL is this evil Death Star organization who seeks to screw up high school sports every chance they get, when in reality it’s the principals and athletic directors of its member schools. It’s not some distant, evil body that hates kids. It’s really a thankless job. Just because they don’t make everyone happy and a few Internet dudes complain doesn’t mean they suck.
In the history of the world, no organization or governing body will ever make decisions that please everybody.

The SCHSL is inconsistent in how they handle things, and more often than not, don't abide by their own rules set forth. Whichever way the wind blows and whomever Jerome and company can play the most rounds of golf with typically decides how things go. The one point you made I do agree with is the biased committee of Principals and ADs. There should be a better checks and balance system. It is a thankless job because they don't do their job. Majority of them were terrible coaches and had losing records so they decided to get some power and flex. True statement no matter what you do, not everyone will be happy, however what currently exist needs to be revamped. A few internet dudes? That's cute bro. Tell Jerome I said hey at the next event y'all go to.Coach125 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 7:45 amFound em!AngryMax wrote: ↑Sun Dec 05, 2021 5:52 amNow what’s the problem?

Re: Alternative to SCHSL
Above is pretty true. Most folks I talk to, amongst coaches and ADS, are pretty frustrated with the SCHSL. Their seemingly lack of alternative plans to deal with covid last year, doing something about the recruiting schools, and what often seems to be the uneven enforcement of penalties, where it sometimes seems that certain schools can skirt the same rule that another school gets hammered for the same offense. But the SCHSL does supposedly serve at the pleasure of the member institutions, as not as some stand alone authority figure. To that point, I cannot understand why the member institutions just let the SCHSL seem to just roll along.
