There is not a Region 2 2A in football, all play in different regions. Hard to believe Northwestern will be in 4A.

Of course, we now have to wait and see who files an appeal and get through that process, but my first thoughts:

Unbalanced Regions again, so there will be questions on setting up the brackets, hard to do Upper State - vs - Lower State when you have 7 Regions and one has 6 and the rest have 5, so it is not a totally balanced in all Classifications. For 5A (16/20 split) and only 36 total teams, I don't expect a 32 team bracket, but who knows with the SCHSL? 4A is still a 7 Region Class but a 22/19 split is not too bad Upper -vs- Lower.

5A Region II, Gaffney and Boiling Springs back and Wade Hampton and Riverside are gone. Going to be a tough region.

You have to remember, re-alignment is for all sports and so they have to keep "non-football" in mind and sort of do a "oh by the way" re-shuffle after they do the real 1A and 2A realignment.

I would have just left it at the 7 regions with one hybrid region for all other sports as well. The non football region might be a little for travel efficient for teams playing multiple games a week tho which in that case works.

Yeah, they do the realignment based on those type issues (basketball, softball, wrestling, etc) and then they look at football only. They try to make the smaller sports the key!

Id prefer to go back to the big 16 .
To many classifications .to much crap .
I could go on but ...
I hate our region . Id love for region not to count .
We waste our time playing stall . That game gets our subs in but iron sharpens iron .
