I believe that was where he was going initially before Catawba Ridge recruited him over the state line. Isn't the coach at Providence Day the former coach at Oceanside? If so, he has experience at recruiting

He was at PD prior to CR. I think the original move could easily be credited to COVID and the divert approaches between states. My understanding his family lives in the CR zone.

Be ware of private coaches and trainers who double as “college” recruiting agents that work the high school circuit too.

He transferred summer of 2919. Covid-19 wasn’t a factor. It hadn’t even been discovered.

He transferred to CR the summer of 2020. He actually enrolled at Banks Trail Middle school the 2nd half of 2nd semester, Covid was a thing. He entered CR as a freshman and that entire summer you had to work out in pods with limited number of athletes. He was not recruited to come to CR. He lives a 1/2 mile from the school and he wanted to come to CR with the new facilities. Maybe he did not like the coach at PD at the time and who is now at Indian Land!!!

Glad to hear it. The idea of high school recruiting by HS coaches, their staff or administration is bothersome to me. If a kid wants to transfer to find a possible opportunity, fine but go and earn it. It is not a negotiation. I’m also not naive and understand the scorecard for high school coaches is W/L. All the private trainers and recruiting specialists need to do their jobs of helping kids be their best where they are and find opportunities st the next level.
