Doodles,
take care of yourself and get well soon.

All,
If you have symptoms get tested as quickly as possible. There are treatments available but some of them require a positive test and some must be done in the first 10 days of infection.

If you are in a high-risk group and your doctor isn't offering any treatment, I would consider consulting another doctor that will.

Therapeutics approved under FDA Emergency Use Authorization.

There are conflicting studies on off-label use of some other existing medications. The World Health Organization's guidance on off-label use is "...off-label use is justified when the condition is serious and there is evidence of potential benefit, there is no standard therapy, patients have been informed and consented (if possible, in written), and the patients are monitoring for safety concerns." <Emphisis mine> Consult a doctor you trust and discuss the possible benefits and risks of an off-label use.

ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine sulfate are therapeutics that work, but are not going to recommended by your doctor, unless he is removed from the main stream.....

ask for these therapeutics and if your doctor won't prescribe these cheap remedies, then you need a new doctor.....

< Edited to correct the status of the FDA's Emergency Use Authorizations >

We need to avoid debating the efficacy of the treatments on this forum, the topic has become too politicized. Let's limit the discussion to well wishes to Doodles and links to information that we think could be helpful to others.

Studies of Hydroxychloroquine have had mixed results and the FDA off-label emergency-use-authorization (EUA) issued in 2020 has been revoked. However, this recent review of 43 studies by the National Institutes of Health indicates that it is safe and is effective for treatment of covid-19 when administered early -- Hydroxychloroquine is effective, and consistently so when provided early, for COVID-19: a systematic review

Ivermectin does not have an FDA EUA for off-label treatment of covid-19. Warnings have been issued to only use ivermectin in doses intended for humans. (Veterinary ivermectin is available in higher dosages that are intended for large animals, like horses.) This review published in the American Journal of Therapeutics, republished by the National Institutes of Health indicates that it is safe, inexpensive and effective when administered early. -- Ivermectin for Prevention and Treatment of COVID-19 Infection: A Systematic Review, Meta-analysis, and Trial Sequential Analysis to Inform Clinical Guidelines
